Discipleship Series – Week 9 – Faith over Fear

But without faith it is impossible to please Him; for he that cometh to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him – Heb 11:6

Faith is being fully persuaded in God’s goodness and power, His desire to do what He has promised, and His ability to fulfill it.

Fear is perverted faith. Fear is being fully persuaded in the enemy’s ill intent and his ability to perform it.

It is with our thoughts that we either birth faith or fear.

If we take hold of the promises of God and establish them in our hearts, faith will come, but if we rather worry over the words of the enemy, then fear is born, and our hearts are established in anxiety. It is in agreement with the World and the father of lies.

We may not want it, but this is how it works.

“So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.” – Romans 10:17

But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: – Romans 10:8

What you fear finds you, but what you have faith for finds you, and faith overrides fear, but you must choose to do what produces faith.

Let’s get this straight. God is a gentleman and will only flow through your life with your permission; that permission is faith.

Satan wouldn’t care about your permission if he didn’t need it but he does and fear is the permission he needs to have access in your life.

Faith is much stronger than fear though the devil will do his very best to get you to believe the contrary.

And the light shineth in the darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not – John 1:5

But it is the one you are fully persuaded of that will have access to your life.

When you are fully persuaded of God’s goodness, protection, and favor in your life, you will laugh at the darkness.

That is faith over fear.

 This a way of life

We walk by faith, not by sight – 2 Cor 5:7

Now the God of hope, fill you with all joy and peace in believing that you may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Ghost.

The God of hope fills you with dreams and visions of life with a good future. He gives you a picture of victory that is hope.

Hope is an earnest expectation of good from God. Hope is a picture of good and the ability to see what awaits us in Christ inside our Spirit man and rejoice at its coming.

You bring that picture out of the spirit realm into the natural through faith.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. – Hebrews 11:1

Is it crazy to you to think that things that were created by the power of God’s word when He said, “Let there be…” Could even now respond to God’s word spoken through us in faith?

By faith we understand that the universe was framed by the word of God, so that things that are seen were not made out of things which are visible. – Hebrews 11:3

I want to warn everyone here of fake faith. True faith is produced by hearing the word, but this hearing is not just with your ears.

Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And don’t you remember? – Mark 8:18

This hearing is done in our hearts. You must first meditate on His Word day and night, and the Holy Spirit will quicken it to you, and confidence will take root in you that defies the natural, and that is faith—being fully persuaded.

and being fully persuaded that what God had promised, He was able to perform. – Romans 4:21

Do not throw away your meds “by faith” when you aren’t fully persuaded of your healing. That is fake faith which is works under the guise of faith.

You don’t travail over faith.

It comes naturally through your relationship with the Lord.

Faith works by love. – Gal 5:6

All good things take time. It’s seed, time, then harvest.

And let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, we shall reap, if we do not give up. – Gal 6:9

You can’t microwave a relationship, so relax and enjoy the journey.

Go out and get some ice cream with Him while discussing a scripture. Keep His words in your heart, and you will bear good fruit.
