His Strength

testimony

I visited Worship Mob for the first time last Friday. I dropped Christy off to catch a ride back to Woodland. Unfortunately, I couldn’t stay for the actual worship since I had to leave at eight to pick Christina up from work. An older gentleman there shared his testimony with us and communicated what God was doing in his life. I enjoyed listening to his story and hearing the love he had for our Savior in his voice.

He is

doing it

One thing stood out to me when he spoke. When he was heading over to be interviewed for the Phone Ministry position at awmi, he told God that he was taking Him to the interview, and God needed to land the position, or they weren’t going to get it. That was a lightbulb moment for me. Duh! God is doing this, not me.

every step

 He never winds us up, points us in the right direction, and hopes for the best. God doesn’t expect us to do anything at all in our strength, but to do everything, EVERYTHING! in His strength. I become stressed when I feel like I have to do it. Let’s see if I can make this. No. I am not looking at the outcome or the results. I am looking at Jesus. I go where He says go and do what He says to do. I’m not worried if it doesn’t work because that’s not my problem; that’s His. I ask what’s next. I don’t even ponder what others will think. The journey with my beloved occupies my thoughts. I have so much that needs work in these areas, but God is with me every step.

Mind block

Knowing where I’m supposed to be heading is the first step to getting there. God is the one working in power in my life. Fear is (false/evidence/appearing/real). It’s a mind block, a mental barrier to doing what God has for us. Choose not to entertain fear. Look to Jesus, keep looking to Jesus, and keep on looking at Jesus. He gives us the power to overcome all barriers and all blocks. It’s not us doing it, so we step out in faith and don’t worry about the results.

farther

faster

Don’t get lost in the lie that “it has to work!.” Nope. God will take care of me either way. I may miss it, but God covers my tuition. I am learning, and missing it comes with the territory. That’s a part of life; it’s not the end.

I would rather step out and miss it a hundred times than sit still and never hit it.

God enjoys the journey with us even more than the destination. He wants us to enjoy life too. So let’s let go of results and trust Him with life. Living in His power will get us much farther, much faster.

Who is like our God?

Praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord, you His servants;

    praise the name of the Lord.

 Let the name of the Lord be praised,

    both now and forevermore.

 From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,

    the name of the Lord is to be praised.

The Lord is exalted over all the nations,

    his glory above the heavens.Who is like the Lord our God,

    the One who sits enthroned on high,

who stoops down to look

    on the heavens and the earth?

He raises the poor from the dust

    and lifts the needy from the ash heap;

 He seats them with princes,

    with the princes of His people.

 He settles the childless woman in her home

    as a happy mother of children.

Praise the Lord.

Psalm 113

Amen
